Shop Owensboro, powered by Independence Bank, is a week-long event that begins on Small Business Saturday. The goal is to support and promote our local small businesses while encouraging shoppers to keep their money where their heart is.
Each participating business contributes one $25 gift certificate and 500 discount cards to the Chamber, which are then placed inside the 500 signature green bags. On the day the event kicks off, shoppers line up at Independence Bank to try and get their hands one of these highly sought after bags, each filled with discounts, special offers, and, if you’re lucky, a $25 gift card to a participating business!
Each bag also includes a shopping “passport”, so shoppers can keep track of all the small businesses they have visited. Shoppers can then turn those cards back into the Chamber and are entered into a drawing to win a $100 Visa Gift Card from Independence Bank!
In addition to Shop Owensboro in November we also host a Shop Owensboro, Powered by Independence Bank “Summer Edition”. This event is business lead, and the Chamber and Independence Bank promote the event. Shop Owensboro, Summer Edition is the last Saturday of July.
