Owensboro Human Relations Commission – MLK 5K Dreamer’s Dash

On August 30, 2025, in recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic speech, I Have a Dream, August 28, 1963, at the Lincoln Memorial before a massive crowd, the Owensboro Human Relations Commission (OHRC) will be hosting the first-ever MLK 5K Dreamer’s Dash. This 5K Run/Walk will honor the work of Dr. King and support the OHRC with its efforts to strengthen and unify the Owensboro community by advancing equality, inclusion, and belonging for its diverse people through advocacy, education, empowerment, and accountability. This event will be a timed competition with timekeepers and a route monitor, and medals will be awarded to the top finishers in each age group. The starting time is set for 8:00 am at the Owensboro City Hall parking lot, located at 104 E. 4th Street, Owensboro, KY 42303.
