Chamber presents business, individual awards during annual celebration

The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce recognized nearly two dozen businesses and individuals during their 2024 awards celebration Friday night.

“The Chamber Celebration is an opportunity to recognize the members who are leading and excelling in our community,” said Chamber President/CEO Candance Castlen Brake. “Our business community is like no other. The nominees and award recipients are true examples of excellence. The Chamber of Commerce is proud to serve our members and see their growth, innovation, and pride in all they do.”

This year, Chamber Celebration received a record number of nominations with over 70 nominations across the Business of the Year nominees. Awards were as follows:

  • Emerging Business of the Year – Willow and Pine Market
  • Business of the Year, 1-10 Employees – Byron and Barclay
  • Business of the Year, 11-50 Employees – Riney Hancock, CPAs PSC
  • Business of the Year, 50+ Employees – RiverValley Behavioral Health
  • Non-Profit of the Year, Fine Arts – Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum
  • Non-Profit of the Year, Human Services (2 winners) – Issac Sterett Adventure Foundation, and The Center
  • Education and Workforce Development Institution of the Year – Daviess County Detention Center Reentry Success Program
  • Manufacturer of the Year – Southwire Company
  • Minority Owned Business of the Year – Kahawa Java
  • Rick Kamuf Agri-Business of the Year – Riney Farms
  • 2024 Chamber Ambassador of the Year – Justin Merritt
  • 2024 Chamber Director of the Year – W. Clay H. Ford
  • 2024 Leadership Owensboro Class Member of the Year – Cheryl Burks-McCarthy
  • 2024 CYP Member of the Year – Ellen Ebelhar
  • 2024 Members of the Year (2 winners) – Greenwell Chisholm, and Welborn Floral and Events
  • Bill Young Leadership Award – Keith Sanders
  • Legacy Award – Tish Correa-Osborne
