Former IBMA executive director Schiminger to speak at Rooster Booster

Paul Schiminger, former Executive Director of the  International Bluegrass Music Association and consultant to the Bluegrass Taskforce, will be the featured guest at Thursday’s Rooster Booster event.

The program begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Owensboro Convention Center (501 West Second Street) and is sponsored by Visit Owensboro. Register to attend here or call the Chamber office at 270-926-1860.

Schiminger is an advisor to Owensboro’s Bluegrass Music Capital of the World Task Force. From 2015 to 2021, he was the executive director of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), located in Nashville. 

Prior to joining the IBMA, Schiminger held various leadership positions in the financial services industry. Aside from his financial services career, he has been involved in bluegrass music since he was a teenager, having played in two regional bands over the years. Schiminger is a graduate of the Leadership Bluegrass class of 2015 and a graduate of Leadership Music in 2018.

The cost to attend Rooster Booster is $15 for Chamber Members with reservations, $20 for Members with no reservations, and $25 for non-members. Reservations include breakfast, which will be served buffet style at the beginning of the event.
