38 graduate from Leadership Owensboro Class of 2021

The Leadership Owensboro Class of 2021, consisting of 38 individuals representing an array of businesses and agencies in the community, graduated last week.

The Leadership Owensboro Program is run by the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce and is focused on educating and engaging individuals to reach their potential and maximize their impact in the community.

The Class of 2021 commenced in September 2020 and completed a series of eight class sessions focused on different sectors of the Owensboro community. Each year, individuals are selected through a competitive application process to be a part of the program.

The Leadership Owensboro Curriculum Committee, comprised of regional community leaders, meets regularly to build curriculum for the program with the goal of educating the class as much as possible on relevant and timely topics.

“It has been a true honor to see these 38 individuals engage our community and grow throughout this year” said Hannah Thurman, Executive Director of Leadership Owensboro.  “We look forward to celebrating each of them and welcoming the class into the Leadership Owensboro alumni base of more than 1,000 civic, business and education leaders.”

Candance Castlen Brake, President and CEO of GO Chamber, said this year’s graduates leave an “indelible mark on our hearts” at the Chamber.

“This group of men and women have poured themselves into each session during a time when they could not always be together in person,” Brake said. “Having the opportunity to end the class year together with in person sessions has been a gift. Their community spirit and their positive energy will transform Owensboro.”

Applications for the upcoming Leadership Owensboro Class of 2022 will open in July. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.
