Kuegel to address Rooster Booster Breakfast

Rod Kuegel, co-owner of Kuegel Farms LLC, will be the featured speaker at the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce’s Rooster Booster Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the Owensboro Convention Center.

He’s scheduled to speak on the connection between agriculture and other businesses in Daviess County.

“When one does well, we all do well,” Candance Brake, president of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce, said Monday.

The meeting is sponsored by the Daviess County Farm Bureau and the Daviess County Cooperative Extension Service.

Agriculture means about $175 million a year to the county’s economy.

Kuegel; his sons, Luke and Clay; and his father, Bill, raise crops and cattle in western Daviess County.

He serves as chairman of the Owensboro Riverport Authority, as a trustee of Brescia University and as a director of both Independence Bank and the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce.

Kuegel is also a past chairman of the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation.

Tickets for the breakfast are $12 for members with reservations, $15 for members without reservations and $20 for nonmembers.

The deadline for reservations is noon Wednesday.

They can be made by calling 270-926-1860 or by going to http://business.chamber.owensboro.com/events/ or emailing chamber@owensboro.com.
