Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce heading to state capitol to discuss community’s needs

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) – Members of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce are spending the day in Frankfort.

This is an annual tradition for members to take a trip to the state capitol.

This trip is for members of the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce to connect with other commerce’s from across the state as well as state officials.

Candance Brake, President and CEO of the chamber of commerce says that business owners, young professionals, local officials, and more are taking the trip Thursday.

Once there, they’ll be able to sit in on legislation, have the opportunity to speak with state leaders, and connect with others in similar positions.

This day allows the chamber to tell state leaders what Owensboro needs as a community, so more resources can be given to the city.

Brake shared what she enjoys most about this trip each year.

“It’s always a pleasure for us to connect our members with opportunities to see relationships be formed not just with people that we come in contact with there, but our group to connect with people that they may not have necessarily known before these times and these opportunities,” Brake said.

Brake also says this is a great time to highlight work being done across Western Kentucky and says it’s trips like these that make sure Owensboro’s voice is heard.
