Chamber Member of the Week: Fern Terra of Owensboro

Fern Terra of Owensboro is a family-owned and operated assisted living facility operating under the concept of less people, more space, and more services. The 4-acre campus sits directly on the Ohio River on Owensboro’s northwest side.

This Friday, June 2, they will host a pre-Friday after 5 Celebration with live music by Jerrett Davis, an open house, and free hamburgers and hotdogs. The event is open to the public, with live music from 4-5 p.m. and tours from 4-6 p.m.

Fern Terra offers one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments ranging from 859-1,600 square feet with 9-feet ceilings. The apartments include a complete kitchen, two to three closets, and large handicap-accessible bathrooms.

“We provide assistance with daily living activities and 24-hour care and security,” said executive director Amy Payne. “Residents can come and go as they please. We have private entrances and ample room to entertain overnight guests.”

The facility hosts gatherings and parties at its private park gazebo. They also offer activities like karaoke, movie nights in the theater room, crafts, games, fitness classes, and more.

Residents and guests also find the on-site fitness center and gourmet cuisine helpful when striving to stay in top form. The facility also has a full activity calendar, a chapel, a library, a card and crafts room, and a theater and safe room.

To learn more about Fern Terra, visit them at 1415 West First Street in Owensboro or email Payne at amyp@fernterra.com. Additional information is also available at fernterrace.com.

“Our mission is to meet the needs of interested persons desiring our services. Our concept is less people, more space, and more services,” Payne said. “We also want to provide a measure of security that will assure the contentment of knowing someone is near and that someone cares.”
