Chamber Member of the Week: Oddball Creative

Oddball Creative is an award-winning design and advertising agency located in Owensboro.

The company was created in 2018 by local entrepreneur Ben Boarman and marketed toward meeting the growing marketing needs of small businesses in the area.

Oddball strives to be a friendly, local-focused, and return-on-investment-driven marketing agency that can deliver results utilizing the latest industry tools.

“The goal wasn’t to fit the mold — we chose the name Oddball because we wanted to stand out from the crowd and deliver ads that do the same,” said Creative Director Christian Potts. “Our success comes from the success of our partners; we form meaningful relationships with our clients and work to achieve their goals as efficiently as possible — an efficient way to garner attention is to be a little different.”

Widely known for their experience in the digital marketing and content creation space, they have also found success in developing custom websites for local businesses. Charlie Robinson serves as the group’s in-house developer.

Their team of marketing professionals combines their unique skillsets to “provide a truly unique marketing experience that covers every stage of a potential customer’s journey.” Even amid the pandemic, the organization has experienced what they called exponential growth.

“Our end goal has always been to provide local small businesses with the same tools and techniques that Fortune 500’s use so they can remain competitive,” Potts said. “This has proven especially useful throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

With growth comes the need for more employees; Jessica Casebolt most recently joined the evolving team as vice president of business development. Casebolt is an Eastern Kentucky University graduate with a degree in economics and international relations and is a former Miss Kentucky.

She serves locally as a chamber ambassador, the Daviess County Republican Chairperson, and serves on boards at the Theater Workshop of Owensboro and the Junior League of Owensboro. Potts said she brings experience as a marketing consultant for media outlets, professional companies, and local, state, and federal political races.

“We are extremely grateful that we have the opportunity to do what we love every day, all while helping dozens of local businesses succeed in the process. As a small business ourselves, we understand what it is like to start something new and how important it is for locals to work together,” Potts said. “Without the support of our local businesses and organizations, there would be no Oddball, so we genuinely appreciate the Owensboro community and the impact it’s had on our company.”
