Job Summary:
Owensboro Community and Technical College is hiring a full-time instructor with a broad background in Automotive Technology.  The instructor will teach various formats within the Automotive Technology Program which includes Hybrid (online) lecture, competency based, and hands on labs. Classes will be administered in accordance with Automotive Service Excellence expectations (ASE).  This can be either a 10-month or 12-month yearly assignment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The duties/responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide instruction in the areas of automotive technology with a focus on ASE certifications.
  • Collaborate with business and industry to maintain an awareness of emerging automotive technologies, trends, and issues in the field.
  • Provide academic advising and career-related counseling for students.
  • Engage in recruitment and retention activities through programming at secondary schools, community partners, and professional organizations; with a concentrated focus on the adult learner population.
  • Participate in faculty professional development activities to include employer sponsored training.
  • Participate in college and community activities that serve the mission and vision of OCTC.

The assignment may include some evening and online courses.

Qualifications:

  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Automotive Technology with 3 years of applicable work experience required.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Certified (or willingness to achieve certifications within 6 months).
