Job Summary:

Owensboro Community and Technical College invites applications for part-time/temporary, in-person faculty teaching courses including ACC 201, ACC 202, and/or BAS 120. The assignment period is for a specific semester or bi-term. This position will report directly to the Department Head.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The duties/responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide in-person learner-centered instruction in the discipline.
  • Prepare lesson plans (as needed), plan, and carry out instructional activities in both theory and practice.
  • Create syllabi and set up assigned courses on the College’s learning management system following college standards.
  • Record grades and submit reports.
  • Submit Student Learning Outcomes for each class at the end of the semester.
  • Maintenance and care for classrooms and training materials.
  • Complete OCTC’s online learning professional development training (KES).
  • Keep abreast of changes in the respective field and help keep the program up to date.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree and 18 graduate semester hours in accounting.
  • Digital learning experience and working knowledge of Blackboard (or a similar learning management system as a delivery method for classes) is preferred.
  • College teaching experience is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong MS Office suites experience (Word and Outlook).
  • Strong problem-solving skills. Able to manage various issues and suggest new solutions to supervisor or others in handling unusual problems.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
