Chamber Member of the Week: Swank Style & Boutique

Swank Style & Boutique doubles as a salon and boutique, offering various products and services. Located off the bypass on Byers Avenue, Swank boasts 13 stylists, two full-time nail technicians, and one esthetician.
The full-service salon offers all hair services, ranging from the Keratin Smoothing System and Express Blow Out System to Dream Catchers hair extensions.
Nail services include manicures, pedicures, and gel polish manicures. The licensed esthetician provides many skin care services, most notably permanent makeup services for brows.
Angie Morrison is the third and current owner of Swank. She and her business partner saw the purchase as an opportunity to grow their real estate portfolio. Their first goal was to expand the boutique to carry items designed for women in their late 30s.
“Our team makes us successful – everyone brings a different skill set, and together, we strive to be one of Owensboro’s premium salons,” Morrison said. “We strive to offer unique items and will soon add vintage Louis Vuitton purses.”
The boutique features a plethora of inventory, including trendy & unique jewelry, purses, Jane Iredale makeup, and other seasonal items. Brands range from Moroccanoil and Kevin Murphy to Colorproof, Aquage, WOW, Jellua, and Verb.
Stylists at the salon maintain their pwn hours, while the boutique is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
“Our salon and boutique also provide a great opportunity for our stylists to be entrepreneurs,” Morrison said. “They run their businesses as a stylist. We have three booths available for additional stylists.”
Morrison added that the Owensboro community has also played a pivotal role in Swank’s success.
“Owensboro is a great family-oriented community,” she said. “We want to help our clientele feel great about themselves.”
