Chamber Member of the Week: Dermatology Center of Owensboro

The husband-and-wife duo most recently expanded their practice, welcoming Dr. Leslie Mills to the team in August. Vessels said Mills is a board-certified dermatologist who will continue “the tradition of providing high-quality dermatology care to the Owensboro Community.”

“We are so fortunate to have her working with us, and we look forward to her being a part of the Owensboro community for many years to come,” he said.

The trio and their many employees treat patients for various medical skin conditions, ranging from skin cancer evaluation and removal to chronic conditions such as acne and psoriasis.

“Typically, skin cancers can be diagnosed and then surgically removed within our clinic, avoiding the need for admission to a hospital or the need for general anesthesia, reducing the risks and costs for our patients,” Vessels said. “Cosmetically, we offer a variety of treatments, including Botox Cosmetic, dermal fillers like Juvederm, microdermabrasions, chemical peels, and a variety of laser treatments, such as tattoo removal and laser hair removal.”

Benjamin and Cassey are natives of the area and consider Owensboro “a great community for physicians to practice medicine.” The two said they are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to practice medicine in town.

“Not only do we receive fantastic support from our healthcare colleagues and the local business community, but also our wonderful patients,” Vessels said. “We truly believe the Owensboro area has the nicest patient population around.”

The Dermatology Center of Owensboro is always accepting new patients. Those interested in making an appointment should call 270-663-1078; referrals are not necessary.

Eager to return home, doctors Cassey and Benjamin Vessels founded the Dermatology Center of Owensboro in 2015. The center proudly provides medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic care.

“We have always been focused on providing the highest quality dermatology care,” Benjamin Vessels said. “Having a physician-centered approach was important to us, as well as striving to make each patient feel welcomed and at ease in our office.”
