Creating local commerce!
Owensboro Buys It! is a Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce program designed to connect smaller Chamber of Commerce members that sell products and/or services with the purchasing decision-makers at larger local companies/industry/organizations. The first Owensboro Buys It! expo in 2009 featured 75 “sellers” and 26 “buyers.” - The 2010 “Owensboro Buys It!” expo will be held on Thursday, October 21st from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hines Center. It has been moved to a morning event this year. A light breakfast will be served starting at 7:30 a.m. with the one-on-one appointments starting at 8 a.m. - “Elevator pitch” training for “sellers” will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15th, Monday, June 28th, Wednesday July 14th, and Thursday, August 19th. To qualify to attend the expo, “sellers” must one of the elevator pitch training sessions. - Make a Business Connections will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays June 18th, July 16th, August 20th, September 17th and October 8th. To qualify to attend the expo, you must attend at least two of these Make a Business Connection events to practice your “elevator pitch.” Small businesses benefit… • Meet with purchasers from large local companies/industry/organizations!
