About Us

The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1913 after starting as the Owensboro Businessmen’s Association in 1893. Through the years, the Chamber has been the primary business advocacy group for the community.

Today, the Chamber has 1,000+ members and is run by a 23-person board of directors. The Chamber staff is currently comprised of five employees who run the day-to-day activities of the organization. In early 2008, the board of directors approved ,"Five Over Five", a strategic plan that will serve as the Chamber’s blueprint for the next five years.

The Chamber is organized into four divisions: Advocacy, Member Services, Membership Development and Administration/Core Services.
